Experts at tech conference Super Vietnam 2025 commented that instead of simply following the tech trends, businesses need to understand the essential factors that make artificial intelligence (AI) effective for their operations.
This insight was shared at the “Technology Trends and Future Investment Vision” conference, which took place on the second day of the Super Vietnam 2025 week on June 5. Despite the hot weather, many attendees lined up early to check in at the Ariyana Da Nang International Convention Center to participate in the event.
How to operate AI effectively
At the start of the second session, experts emphasized that businesses should not just follow trends but must first understand what AI is and how it can solve specific problems in their operational models. William H. Nguyen, CEO of Quickom, explained, “If businesses don’t understand AI’s nature, they may make poor tool choices and develop unrealistic expectations.”

Tuan Anh Nguyen, CEO of Alpha Asimov Robotics, agreed, adding that instead of continuing to handle tasks manually, businesses need to design processes, provide guidance, monitor, and optimize AI tools. “Successful AI application is not about replacing humans, but about reorganizing workflows to enable AI to provide better support,” he said.
Khuat Thanh Tung, senior advisor at Nexira, also commented that businesses should align their AI development vision with their long-term goals.
“It’s not about competing with technology, but about finding AI solutions that match a company’s capacity, culture, and developmental needs,” Tung said.

The panel discussion, which included Dr. Tran Minh Tung, Nguyen Tuan Anh, William H. Nguyen, Khuat Thanh Tung, and Henry Thai Quang, CTO of Viet Digital Investment Joint Stock Company (VDI), highlighted that businesses must identify their current position on the AI application journey, from data infrastructure to operational transparency.
According to VDI’s CTO, businesses need to assign tasks clearly across three layers: leadership, strategy, and operation. This structure is essential to avoid confusion during implementation.

Each stage of AI implementation should have clear KPIs, periodic assessments, and an accompanying partner ecosystem, which helps ensure seamless and effective AI application. Henry Thai Quang also pointed out that designing the right data infrastructure from the start and investing in personnel who understand both technology and business models is essential. “AI is only valuable when it serves practical goals,” he added.
Data security in AI and blockchain
In the third session, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thuc, Head of the Department of Knowledge Technology at the University of Science – VNU-HCM, stressed that an effective security mechanism must first establish clear standards for transactions.
However, the current lack of synchronization has created “blind spots” in data security, particularly in decentralized environments. In response, experts are calling for unified and transparent security mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of standards, privacy, and legal corridors to protect personal data.

Dr. Nam Ngo, Head of Research at the Ethereum Foundation, also highlighted the need for a two-way verification mechanism in data sharing to ensure privacy and that information is used appropriately. He believes these factors will only be effective when placed within a clear and flexible legal framework.
In the final part of the session, Jaehyun Ha, Head of Research Analysis at Presto Labs, and Vince Chew, COO at Evvo Labs Pte Ltd., emphasized that accountability and privacy should be developed in parallel as a foundation for trust and transparency in the digital ecosystem.
They argued that decentralized security models will only work effectively with close coordination between governments, academic institutions, and businesses in setting common standards.
R&D: Foundation for Vietnam’s technology future
The “Focus on R&D: The driving force for Vietnam’s technology future” panel featured Dr. Nguyen Quang Vu from Vietnam-Korea University; Dr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, former Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang; Dr. Nam Ngo, Head of Research at Ethereum Foundation; Tran Anh Dung, Founder and CTO of Orochi Network; and Thanh Nguyen, Founder of Verichains, GreenNode.AI, and Vice President of VNG.
The panel attracted great attention as it discussed the crucial role of R&D in developing Vietnam’s domestic technology ecosystem.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Thanh mentioned that Vietnam currently has four major resolutions related to technology development, with a focus on human resources. These resolutions aim to build a semiconductor ecosystem and attract international tech corporations to set up facilities in Vietnam.
From a business perspective, Thanh Nguyen from VNG said that in addition to receiving investment and technology from foreign partners, Vietnam needs to take a more proactive role by observing, deploying, and testing new technologies.
“We once cooperated with a partner on a large AI system in late 2023. When implementing it, we found that their technology differed from ours in terms of network architecture, tools, and management models,” Thanh said. “These new technologies come with very little documentation, requiring us to be highly adaptable.”

Dung proposed creating an environment of team cohesion and external exchanges to retain talented engineers and researchers.
Dr. Thanh emphasized four critical factors for success: strategic leadership, human resource development, international integration, and persistence in implementation.
Experts agreed that businesses that do not adopt AI risk falling behind in an increasingly automated and data-driven market. However, effectively applying AI requires more than just technology—it involves leadership thinking, appropriate infrastructure, skilled personnel, and an innovative organizational culture.
The Super Vietnam 2025 Week on Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence was organized by Orochi Network in collaboration with FPT Online and DSAC, with VnExpress as the media sponsor.
